This course is designed to take learners from the fundamentals of product design to advanced design sprint execution. It starts by exploring the role of a product designer, essential skills, and how to turn ideas into actionable projects. The course emphasizes core design processes including agile, design thinking, lean UX, and the design sprint framework, helping learners understand how to define problems, prioritize solutions, and test ideas efficiently.
Students will learn practical techniques for sketching solutions (Crazy 8s, Four-Step Sketch), storyboarding, wireframing, prototyping, and creating low- and high-fidelity designs. User journey mapping, expert interviews, and usability testing are covered to ensure designs meet user needs. Remote design sprint execution, sprint goal writing, and collaborative workflows are also explained, making it ideal for distributed teams.
Advanced lessons focus on evaluating MVPs, prioritization methods (value vs effort), co-design, and integrating user feedback to improve product outcomes. Learners also explore presenting design work professionally, facilitating workshops, and understanding the differences between product, service, and experience design. By the end, students are equipped to confidently run design sprints, design user-centric products, and pursue a career as a professional product designer.
