This course provides a complete introduction to textile design using Adobe Photoshop, with a strong focus on practical skills and traditional fabric patterns. It is designed for beginners who want to learn how to create professional textile prints for garments such as kurta, pant, dupatta, and other fabric applications.
You will start with the fundamentals of textile design, understanding channels, canvas setup, selection tools, move tools, pen tools, and brush techniques used in the industry. The course then moves into creating seamless surface patterns, working with scanned fabrics, aligning RGB files, and redesigning existing prints.
Throughout the course, you will learn how to design a wide range of traditional and modern patterns, including Ikat, Kalamkari, Bandhani, Buta, Lehriya, zigzag, chess block, circle designs, and floral motifs. Special attention is given to border and corner designs, seamless borders, rotation techniques, and color-filling methods.
You will also master handwork-style designs using custom brushes, optimize your workflow with Photoshop actions and history settings, and finalize print-ready files by converting channel-based PSD files into JPEG formats. By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently create complete textile designs suitable for printing and commercial use.
