Job Description
Umbra Egypt is expanding and looking for a Technical Project Engineer who can take outdoor structure designs (pergolas, cladding, fencing, custom aluminum/wood structures) from concept → technical drawings → fabrication → installation → handover.
This role works directly with management and provides technical direction to the Production Manager and site teams.
Responsibilities
Technical Office
- Convert design concepts into detailed technical drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks).
- Prepare fabrication drawings, cutting lists, joinery details, and BOM.
- Create CNC/laser-ready files (DXF).
- Define materials, thicknesses, and assembly methods.
- Coordinate with design and sales teams to finalize project specs.
Factory Coordination
- Provide the Production Manager with complete fabrication drawings.
- Supervise accuracy of metal and wood fabrication.
- Approve technical QC before installation.
- Solve fabrication issues on the shop floor.
- Ensure parts match drawings with zero rework.
Site Execution
- Conduct site surveys and precise measurements.
- Prepare installation plans and sequences.
- Guide installers (through the Production Manager) for proper execution.
- Resolve technical challenges on-site.
- Ensure perfect alignment, levels, anchoring, and finishing.
Project Ownership
- Manage projects from drawing → fabrication → installation with full technical control.
- Maintain communication between office, production, and site teams.
- Provide weekly technical updates to management.
Job Requirements
Requirements
- • 5–10+ years experience in pergolas, outdoor structures, aluminum/steel fabrication, or similar fields.
- • Expert in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- • Experience in SolidWorks, Fusion, or Rhino (preferred).
- • Strong understanding of metal and wood joinery.
- • Proven ability to translate drawings into real fabrication.
- • Experience preparing CNC/laser files.
- • Strong site installation experience.
- • Knowledge of powder coating and outdoor finishing.
- • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- • Able to supervise installers and production through the Production Manager.
