Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Fire Fighting & Plumbing Design Engineer to remotely join our expanding engineering team in AFCD Egypt office. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in the design
and documentation of fire protection and plumbing systems for a wide range of projects, including towers, villas, interior fit-outs, and modification works.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop concept and detailed design drawings for fire fighting and plumbing systems in accordance with project specifications and local authority regulations.
Design fire protection systems including sprinkler networks, standpipes, hydrants, FM200/Inert gas systems, and fire pumps as per QCDD & NFPA standards.
Design plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, stormwater, and irrigation networks as per international and local codes.
Perform hydraulic calculations (water supply, sprinkler systems, pump head calculations) using recognized software tools.
Prepare tender drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and all related documents required for bidding and authority submissions.
Ensure
all designs comply with QCDD requirements and relevant NFPA, UPC/IPC, and local regulations.
Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP teams to deliver fully integrated design packages.
Provide technical support during authority submissions, project reviews, and client meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc. is mandatory).
7–10 years of demonstrated experience in fire fighting and plumbing system design, preferably within Qatar or the GCC region.
In-depth knowledge of QCDD procedures, NFPA standards, and plumbing codes such as UPC/IPC.
Experience working on high-rise towers, villas, interior fit-out projects, and renovation works.
Proficiency in hydraulic calculation software and AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit is considered an added advantage.
Strong understanding of fire protection systems, water supply design principles, and authority approval processes.
