Job Title: (Project) HSSE Director.
Role Purpose:
The Director, HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Department is responsible for directing, developing, and overseeing the general health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures of the organization. They ensure the workplace follows local or industry-specific regulations, and that periodic safety audits are conducted. The Director also oversees organizational compliance with local environment, health, and safety regulations, and ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Accountabilities Key Activities:
HSSE Management System Oversight:
· Collaborate closely with senior leadership to establish Annual goals, objectives, and KPIs that align with the company’s mission, HSE commitments, and regulatory requirements.
· Lead the formulation and execution of health and safety management system, ensuring effective risk management and the establishment of a comprehensive framework that facilitates a safe and healthy workplace.
· Collaborate with HR, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Legal, Contracts, Procurement, and other functions to ensure compliance with ESH requirements, while driving the integration of HSE principles across all business units and processes.
· Serves as the HSE subject matter expert and provides information to management about HSE-related performance, issues, and the status of the HSE management system in regard to effectiveness and compliance.
HSSE Policy, Procedure, and Documentation Management:
· Oversees and maintains HSE policies, procedures, and training programs, ensuring they are regularly updated to reflect changes or developments while aligning with regulatory requirements, international standards, and industry best practices.
· Ensure policies are clearly communicated, accessible, and consistently implemented across all departments and sites.
· Promote collaboration with local ministries, international organizations (e.g., OSHA, IOSH), and leading construction companies to share best practices, enhance learning, and adopt global HSSE standards.
HSSE Incident Management and Reporting:
· Directs, oversees, and provides expert guidance in incident investigations and management.
· Approve all the incident reports, Draft lesson learned, analyze data to identify trends and implement corrective measures to prevent re-occurrence
· Track and analyze leading and lagging indicators (e.g., injury rates, near-misses, carbon footprint) using advanced data analytic and digital tools to optimize safety and environmental performance, and provide comprehensive reports to leadership.
· Implement robust performance monitoring through trend analysis, audits, and inspections to identify gaps, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement, while systematically tracking progress against established targets and objectives.
HSSE Culture Promotion and Compliance:
· Promote a proactive safety culture by embedding HSSE values into daily operations and decision-making at all organizational levels.
· Design and implement initiatives to engage employees, contractors, and leadership in HSSE ownership (e.g., safety committees, recognition programs, Camapigns,leadership walkarounds).
· Oversees and evaluates the progress reports and overall HSE performance across all projects, realigning the safety program as needed or developing new strategies to elevate HSE standards across the organization.
· Manages the emergency response team and emergency preparedness actions for the region.

· Minimum of 20 years of experience in HSSE roles, with at least 10 years in a leadership capacity.
