Job DescriptionAs a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating mechanical system designs across multidisciplinary projects. The role involves preparing and reviewing mechanical designs, coordinating with BIM and MEP teams, resolving technical interfaces, and ensuring compliance with project requirements, local regulations and standards. Supports design reviews, RFIs, value engineering, and authority approvals to deliver efficient and coordinated mechanical solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Coordination: Fully design the mechanical, public health and fire life safety systems from client inception to detailed design (CHW, HVAC, Fire suppression, drainage etc.). Ensure all mechanical design drawings and specifications comply with local regulations (KSA/UAE etc), relevant standards (BS, IEC, NFPA), and client requirements. Provide technical input to the BIM team during preparation of coordinated drawings and single
line diagrams for all mechanical systems. Perform detailed technical review of existing design drawings and calculations. Raise and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs) for any client/consultant clarifications required. Liaise with the technical director and present designs and coordinate changes arising from site conditions or MEP interfaces. Ensures engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards Leads on the coordination of engineering services Takes a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions Provide Value Engineering solutions Liase with estimation teams during tender phases of projects.Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized university. Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in construction projects (Data Centre or mission-critical project experience highly advantageous). Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, (CHW, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.). Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit (for coordination and MTO review). Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Middle East codes and standards is an advantage. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
