Senior Full Stack Engineer (Remote – Middle East & Africa) Overview We are building a new rideshare platform from the ground up and are currently assembling our founding engineering team. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who is excited about building scalable systems, taking ownership, and helping shape the long-term technical direction of the platform. This is a hands-on role within a fast-moving startup environment where you will work closely with leadership and contribute directly to the core architecture and development of the product from day one. We are looking for someone who can build production-ready systems, move quickly, solve problems independently, and think long-term.
Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIsDevelop and support real-time systems for ride tracking and ride updates Implement ride-matching and dispatch-related logic Integrate third-party services such as maps, payments, and notifications Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability Collaborate with mobile developers and UI/UX

designers Contribute to technical architecture and engineering decisions Debug, test, maintain, and improve platform infrastructure Help establish engineering standards and best practices Requirements5+ years of experience in full-stack or backend development Strong proficiency in Node.js, Python, or similar backend technologies Experience building scalable REST APIs and backend services Strong understanding of real-time systems (Web Sockets, Firebase, Socket. IO, etc.) Strong database design experience (SQL and/or NoSQL) Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Experience integrating payment systems such as Stripe or similar Strong understanding of system architecture, scalability, and security Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines Ability to work independently and take ownership of systems Nice to Have Experience building rideshare, logistics, or marketplace platforms Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices Startup experience Mobile app development familiarity Arabic language skills Additional Information English: Required Arabic: Preferred Remote position Open to candidates across the Middle East and Africa Startup mindset is critical (ownership, speed, adaptability) Compensation Full-time Salary: $1,000–$1,500 USD/month depending on experience and fit Long-term growth opportunity as the company scales
