The Maintenance & Operations Technician is responsible for the daily operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment in an animal feed production plant. This role ensures that machinery, conveyors, mixers, pellet mills, and bagging systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards.
Plant Operations:
- Operate feed production equipment (e.g., grinders, mixers, pelletizers, coolers, sifters).
- Monitor control systems (manual or automated/PLC).
- Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and throughput targets.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
- Record production data (batch sheets, downtime, yields).
Maintenance:
- Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, inspections, minor repairs).
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
- Replace worn parts such as belts, bearings, seals, and motors.
- Support breakdown repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with contractors or engineers during major repairs or upgrades.
