Contract Role: Senior Telecom Engineer
Overview:
A contract opportunity for a Senior Telecom Engineer to support a major onshore oil and gas project in the Middle East. The role involves managing telecom systems infrastructure, providing technical expertise, and supporting project delivery in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and control telecom system hardware/software across LAN/WAN platforms.
- Configure tools for provisioning, testing, and deployment of telecom infrastructure.
- Plan and implement system installations and maintenance, including virtual environments.
- Produce system designs and specifications, considering performance, security, and cost.
- Manage the full lifecycle
- of telecom systems including upgrades and migrations.
- Lead small-scale projects and sub-projects, managing risks and issues.
- Diagnose and resolve telecom-related incidents.
Skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of IT experience in the oil and gas sector, with 4 years in project roles.
- Strong project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering software tools and telecom standards.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Contract Details:
- Start Date: Q3/Q4 2025
- Duration: 24 months
- Location: Onshore sites in Doha & Ras Laffan
- Schedule: 5 working days per week
