The Technical Office Manager will lead and supervise the technical office team, ensuring the proper preparation, review, and coordination of all technical and engineering activities for construction projects. He will act as the main link between design, site execution, and project management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise the Technical Office team (engineers, draftsmen, quantity surveyors).
Review project designs, drawings, and specifications, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate between design consultants, site teams, and project management for technical issues.
Prepare, review, and approve shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical submittals.
Review BOQs, quantities, and cost estimates; ensure accuracy and alignment with project budgets.
Handle value engineering proposals and provide alternative solutions to optimize cost and time.
Ensure that materials submittals comply with project specifications and standards.
Follow up with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials.
Provide technical support to site teams during construction execution.
Monitor project progress, prepare technical reports, and highlight potential risks or delays.
Ensure compliance with local codes, international standards, and company policies.
Participate in client/consultant meetings for resolving technical issues.
Train, mentor, and develop junior engineers in the technical office team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture (Master’s degree is a plus).
Minimum 10 years of experience in construction projects, at least 5 years in a senior/managerial role.
Strong experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and Primavera (P6) is a must.
Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken & written).
