Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities

• Strategic & Operational Oversight
• Oversee and optimize container pickup and delivery schedules, ensuring seamless coordination between sales teams, transport contractors, and customers.
• Direct and monitor the end-to-end movement of containers, from port to customer site and vice versa, ensuring efficiency and adherence to timelines.
• Supervise the tracking of all transportation (e.g., truck arrival, gate-in/gate-out status, container number updates) to maintain real-time visibility and proactive management.
• Lead the resolution of complex issues and delays in real time, developing and implementing proactive solutions to minimize disruption.
• Supervise Transport Coordinators and assign tasks.
• Ensure SLA alignment and resolve transport-related escalations.
• Enforce and audit contractor compliance with all safety and operational standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Lead the development and enforcement of SOPs for trucking operations.
• Transport Vendors Management

• & Rate Optimization
• Lead the onboarding and performance evaluation of new transport contractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with company standards and service requirements.
• Establish and maintain strong communication protocols and relationships with transport suppliers, ensuring reliable and timely execution of services through ongoing performance monitoring and feedback.
• Collaborate strategically with the IOP team to ensure transport rates are consistently uploaded and updated, reflecting current market conditions and optimizing cost efficiency.
• Coordinate rate negotiations with IOP and monitor market trends.
• Ensure OPUS rate updates and system maintenance.
• Financial Oversight
• Review and approve vendor invoices before Finance submission.
• Monitor transport cost efficiency and flag unusual variances.
• Oversee billing data accuracy related to transport services.
• Reporting & KPI Monitoring
• Analyze key transport KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, vendor compliance, cost).
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports for senior management or

• IOP if required.
• Manage and validate the accurate and timely updating of internal systems with comprehensive transportation status information.
• Leadership & Communication
• Facilitate high-level communication with internal sales and operations teams for critical or priority shipments, ensuring strategic alignment and resource allocation.
• Represent the Transport Department in internal and external meetings.
• Mentor and support the development of Transport Coordinators.
• Coordinate with Sales, CS, and IOP teams for high-level planning needs
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 4 - 6 years in trucking/inland operations within a reputable container shipping or logistics firm.
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is a plus.
• Knowledge: Strong familiarity with container logistics, port operations, and inland haulage.
• Systems Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and GPS tracking platforms.
• Language: Excellent command of the English language.
• Soft Skills: Demonstrated leadership, multitasking, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
