A highly creative Video Editor with a sharp eye for detail, deep understanding of retention editing, and the ability to transform science-heavy educational content into visually engaging, binge-worthy videos.

Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Video Editor at Macrofit Coaching. The Video Editor will be responsible for the following:
🔸 Editing Educational Videos (5–12 mins):
You'll work with talking-head footage where our coaches explain concepts related to fat loss, muscle building, and sustainable fitness systems. Your job is to take those raw A-rolls and turn them into polished, highly engaging educational videos.
🔸 Extracting Short-Form Videos from the Main Video:
You’ll identify the best moments and turn them into scroll-stopping Shorts, Reels, and TikToks with a strong hook, fast cuts, and captions that keep viewers glued.
🔸 Visual Storytelling & Visual Education:
You should know how to support what’s being said using visuals — B-roll, text overlays, animations, icons, slides, charts, metaphors, and more. We’re not just editing; we’re teaching through video.
🔸 Retention Editing Is a Must:
You should be fluent in the techniques that drive high viewer retention:
- Knowing when to punch in (zoom), when to cut to B-roll, and when to shift pace.
- Using Jump Cuts, Crop Cuts, Zooms, Sound Effects in a seamless, purposeful way.
- Placing subtitles in visually ergonomic spots (ideally near the mouth), without disrupting flow.
🔸 Motion Graphics & Light VFX:
Think subtle but impactful animations — animated text, arrows, diagrams, etc. Clean, professional motion that supports the message without distracting from it.
Qualifications
- Professional Editing skills for educational -talking head- social media videos.
- MUST have deep experience in editing social media videos. Specially Short Form.
- Proficient in Motion Graphics and Graphics
- Strong attention to detail and creative thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Experience with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar
- A portfolio showcasing previous video editing work for long and short form social media content
- Strong sense of visual taste and understanding of viewer psychology
- Fast turnaround time
- Reliable, punctual, and communicative (we take deadlines very seriously)
- Understanding of social-first video trends and viral content principles
- Bonus if you proactively suggest smart visuals and creative edits (we love initiative)
