Position Overview
EDECS is currently looking for Internal Audit Section Head to lead and execute comprehensive internal audit projects and special assignments within a specific area or section of our business. This critical role involves ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, assessing the effectiveness of controls, and providing value-added recommendations to enhance business processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in internal auditing, strong analytical skills, and the proven ability to lead audit staff through complex fieldwork and reporting cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Execution and Fieldwork
- Plan, perform, and conduct detailed audit projects and special assignments within the assigned section, adhering strictly to the approved internal audit methodology and professional standards.
- Set up and execute detailed interviews and walkthroughs with various lines of business and functional areas within the section to document and understand processes.
- Supervise and manage the audit staff assigned to the section, providing clear direction, reviewing fieldwork, and ensuring compliance with audit scope and timelines.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare accurate, logical, and detailed work-papers for all completed audit work, clearly documenting the scope, testing results, and final conclusions.
- Document all identified audit issues, findings, and corrective action plans for subsequent review and discussion with auditees and higher management.
- Write and prepare formal audit and advisory reports
- for the section's activities, including facilitating the discussion and clearance of these reports with auditees.
Follow-up and Compliance
- Make regular follow-ups to monitor and track the implementation status of agreed-upon audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective remediation by management within the section.
- Ensure all audit activities and reporting comply with established internal audit processes, professional auditing standards, and internal governance frameworks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in internal auditing is essential, with demonstrated experience in managing audit teams or leading complex engagements.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding and knowledge of auditing standards (e.g., IIA standards), and key business processes.
- Proficiency in the use of ERP systems (for data analysis) and the full Microsoft Office Suite.
