Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Accounting Manager oversees the financial operations of the construction company, ensuring accurate accounting, cost control, and financial reporting in accordance with company policies and industry standards. This role is responsible for managing the accounting team, monitoring project budgets, and supporting management in financial decision-making.

1. Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cost accounting.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure compliance with accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and internal financial

policies.

Reconcile accounts and review financial discrepancies.

Manage end-of-month and year-end closing processes.

2. Project Cost Control

Monitor construction project budgets, costs, and progress payments.

Review and validate cost reports, job cost allocations, and project profitability analyses.

Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to track expenses and variances.

Ensure proper recording of project revenues, retention, and progress billing.

3. Cash Flow & Treasury

Supervise cash flow planning and forecast for ongoing projects.

Manage payments to subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

Coordinate with banks for facilities, guarantees, and letters of credit.

Support treasury operations and ensure liquidity for project needs.

Job Requirements

Key Skills Required

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of construction processes, contracts (FIDIC knowledge is a plus), and project lifecycle.
• Financial acumen for managing project margins and payment cycles.
• Proficiency in CRM and MS Office tools.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
