Reporting into the Head of Pre-Prep, we are seeking an outstanding, committed, and energetic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join King’s School The Crown and support the 3–4 age group. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for working with young children and be dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. The role requires a strong team player who is eager to contribute to the culture of excellence across the Pre-Prep.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist children with early learning through play-based activities, helping them build independence, social skills, and positive behaviour.
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons, preparing resources, and adapting activities to meet children’s needs.
- Supervise children during class, play, snack, lunch, and transitions, ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Help set up and maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment, including displays of children’s work.
- Communicate respectfully with parents (through the teacher), follow safeguarding policies, and cover duties as assigned
- Support personal care routines and ensure children’s safety and wellbeing.
- Take part in training to improve skills and apply learning to support pupils effectively.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant higher-level qualification or vocational training which can be practically applied to supporting pupil development.
- Minimum 3 years’ teaching and learning support experience in Education sector.
- Clear and effective communications skills, both verbal and written, with a confident and positive manner.
- A demonstrable passion for the profession.
- Confident, presentable, articulate and dynamic personality.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- A positive attitude to change
- A continuous improvement mindset.
