Job Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor and control project costs throughout all phases, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities based on drawings and specifications.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and change orders to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to provide cost advice and support decision-making.
- Track project expenditures and prepare regular financial reports for management review.
- Analyze project risks related to costs and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Review and validate contractor and supplier invoices, ensuring alignment with contract terms and project progress.
- Assist in the procurement process by providing cost data and participating in tender evaluations.
- Support the continuous improvement of cost control processes and tools within the organization.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years and up to 6 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying and cost control within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and tendering processes.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in cost control software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively in an office-based environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with local and international construction standards and regulations.
