Job Description

A qualified Safety Officer with 5+ years of experience in managing and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) projects. Responsible for implementing safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, training personnel, and ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations to maintain a zero-accident worksite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures across the OHTL project site.
• Conduct daily site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Carry out risk assessments and job safety analysis (JSA) for all critical activities such as tower erection, stringing, and working at heights.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all workers and staff.
• Lead safety toolbox talks, inductions, and training sessions for site personnel and subcontractors.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project-specific HSE requirements.
• Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices; recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain up-to-date records of safety reports, permits, inspections, and incident logs.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and contractors to promote a safety-first culture.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies during audits and inspections, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
• Support emergency response drills and first aid readiness at the worksite.

Skills

• ( Bachelor Degree in Engineering( Electricity or civil
• Experience at least 5 Years in Overhead Transmission Lines
• Strong knowledge of safety practices related to high-voltage transmission work, working at heights, and heavy equipment operations.
• Certified in NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent safety training.
• Familiar with local and international HSE standards and regulations.
• Excellent observation, communication, and incident reporting skills.
• Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence safety behavior on site.
