Job Description
The Contracts & Compliance Advisor plays a key role in managing and reviewing contractual agreements and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in an automotive dealership environment. This position supports dealership operations by ensuring that agreements with manufacturers, vendors, and service providers are legally sound, and that the business complies with industry regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts including:
- Manufacturer and distributor agreements
- Vendor/supplier agreements (e.g., parts, technology systems, advertising)
- Service contracts and facilities leases
- Finance and insurance (F&I) service provider agreements
- Ensure contract terms align with company policies and risk tolerance.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts and monitor critical dates (renewals, expirations, obligations).
Compliance Monitoring & Advisory
- Ensure dealership operations comply with relevant laws and regulations, including:
- Automotive retail laws
- Finance & Insurance (F&I) compliance
- Consumer protection laws
- Advertising standards and data privacy
- Conduct internal reviews and compliance audits of sales, service, and back-office departments.
- Assist in investigating and resolving compliance concerns, complaints, or violations.
Policy Implementation & Training
- Assist in the development and rollout of compliance policies, procedures, and training programs for dealership staff.
- Monitor adherence to codes of conduct, anti-bribery rules, fair lending practices, and other ethical guidelines.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to business managers and front-line employees.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders on contracts and compliance matters.
- Liaise with external counsel, OEM representatives, and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Report on compliance risks, audit findings, and contract status to leadership.
