We are an online art gallery seeking a professional PHP Backend Developer to join our remote team. The successful candidate will work on the systems that support our digital catalog, artist portfolios, and e-commerce functionalities. You will be responsible for maintaining and extending our backend services in a collaborative environment that values steady delivery and clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain PHP-based APIs and services.
- Integrate with content management systems and e-commerce platforms.
- Optimize MySQL database queries for performance and scalability.
- Ensure application security and data integrity.
- Implement caching strategies and message queueing systems.
- Write unit and integration tests using PHPUnit.
- Document API endpoints for internal and external use.
- Collaborate with frontend developers and content teams on feature development.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in PHP 8+ and a modern framework (Laravel or Symfony).
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with Composer, Docker, and Git.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS or similar).
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization.
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews.
Nice to have
- Experience with image processing pipelines.
- Knowledge of content moderation tools.
- Familiarity with search technologies like Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
- Experience with payment gateway integrations.
