About the Role
As an English Translator, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance of translated content across a variety of industries. You will be responsible for adapting materials from multiple source languages into English, maintaining linguistic precision while preserving the original tone and intent. This role is ideal for linguists who are passionate about language, culture, and delivering high-quality localization work in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate written content from multiple source languages into English with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
- Review and edit translations for grammar, tone, and consistency in terminology.
- Collaborate with localization teams, editors, and project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Adapt translations based on target audience, regional variations, and client requirements.
- Maintain translation memories, glossaries, and style guides for consistency across projects.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure alignment with brand and linguistic standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in localization and translation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, English, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional translation experience, preferably within localization or content adaptation.
- Native-level fluency in English with strong writing and editing skills.
- Proficiency in at least one other language is a plus.
- Experience using CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Smartcat, or similar).
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong understanding of linguistic nuances.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate across virtual teams.
