Data Integration Specialist

As a Data Integration & EDI Specialist at Maxima Apparel, you will play a key role in the design, customization, and implementation of data workflows and integrations, tailored to meet our growing organizational needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and the smooth operation of our core systems and data pipelines, all while driving innovation in our workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

EDI & Systems Integration

• Manage and monitor EDI integrations with customers, suppliers, 3PLs, and marketplaces.
• Configure and maintain data flows via FTP/SFTP, APIs, and other integration channels.
• Coordinate with external partners and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
• Ensure data consistency and reliability across all business systems (WMS, e-commerce platforms, accounting tools, etc.).

Data Architecture & Data Flows

• Design and maintain logical data models and data flows between internal and external systems.
• Define and document data standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
• Optimize database queries, views, and reports to support performance and scalability.
• Work with IT and business teams to ensure data security, access control, and governance.

Data Cleaning & Quality Assurance

• Build and execute data cleaning routines to maintain accurate master data (products, customers, vendors, price lists, etc.).
• Identify, analyze, and correct data discrepancies, duplicates, or missing values.
• Implement validation rules and controls to prevent data quality issues at the source.
• Prepare and manage bulk data imports/exports using CSV, Excel, and other tools.

API Management & Automation

• Develop, configure, and maintain API integrations between Maxima systems and third-party platforms.
• Create and maintain scripts/jobs (e.g., Python, scheduled tasks) to automate recurring data processes.
• Monitor automated jobs and implement alerting for failures or anomalies.

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Build dashboards and reports to support operations, finance, logistics, and leadership.
• Analyze data to provide actionable insights on sales, inventory, logistics, and production performance.
• Support ad-hoc data requests from different departments with accurate and timely analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Operations, Finance, Logistics, E-commerce, and IT teams to understand data and integration needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and integration designs.
• Train end users on data best practices, reporting tools, and integration workflows.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data integration concepts (ETL, APIs, web services, EDI, FTP/SFTP).
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment with multiple stakeholders.

Experience:

* 3+ years of experience in a Data Integration, EDI Specialist, Data Engineer, or similar role.

* Practical experience managing *EDI* integrations (e.g., with retailers, vendors, logistics providers).

* Experience working with *FTP/SFTP*, API endpoints (REST/JSON), and data pipelines.

* Previous exposure to retail, fashion, apparel, or logistics industries is a plus.

* Experience with Python or another scripting language for automation is highly preferred.

* Experience in data cleansing, master data management, and report building.

Skills:

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Experience with APIs (REST), JSON, XML, and flat file formats (CSV, TXT).
• Basic to intermediate Python scripting for automation and data manipulation.
• Understanding of EDI standards and mapping (e.g., orders, invoices, ASNs).
• Familiarity with integration tools or middleware is a plus.

Analytical & Problem-Solving

• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex integration and data issues end-to-end.
• Capable of translating business problems into data and integration solutions.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal); Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Ownership mentality and a continuous improvement mindset.

-Shift Timing: 9am–5pm, from Saturday to Thursday.
