Role Overview
You will be responsible for leading the structural concrete design discipline, managing teams, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering high-quality designs from concept through IFC for major building and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee structural concrete design across all stages: concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of structural engineers
- Perform and approve structural analysis, design calculations, and technical reports
- Coordinate effectively with Architecture, MEP, BIM, and construction teams
- Ensure compliance with local and international codes (ECP, ACI, BS, Eurocode)
- Implement and enforce QA/QC procedures for all design deliverables
- Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and design optimization
- Represent the structural discipline in client meetings and technical workshops
- Provide technical support during tender and construction stages when required
Required Experience
- 13–15+ years of progressive experience in structural concrete design
- Strong background in design offices working on:
- High-rise and mid-rise buildings
- Industrial and mixed-use developments
- Complex reinforced concrete structures
- Proven experience in EPC or large consultancy environments
- Demonstrated leadership in managing medium to large design teams
Software & Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in: ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000
- Strong working knowledge of: Autodesk Revit (Structure), AutoCAD
- Ability to review and guide BIM models, shop drawings, and coordination outputs
Leadership & Management Skills
- Strong people-management and mentoring capabilities
- Ability to plan workloads, manage resources, and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly
- Confident decision-maker with a problem-solving mindset
- Experience working in fast-track and high-pressure environments
Additional Skills (Highly Valued)
- Experience in value engineering and cost optimization
- Exposure to tender design and BOQ support
- Strong understanding of constructability and site coordination
- High level of accountability, ownership, and professionalism
