Job Description
- Source and evaluate local suppliers for agricultural products and materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to secure the best possible deals for the organization.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and new suppliers within the agriculture sector.
- Manage purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve any issues related to delivery or quality discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements for audit and reporting purposes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all purchasing activities.
- Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce supply chain risks.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of proven experience in local purchasing, experience in agriculture sector is a must.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with a track record of successful vendor management.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
